The Bay Ridge Community Council is a leading and vibrant Brooklyn based civic group with nearly 100 affiliated member organizations. It has been serving thousands of local residents for over a half-century since it was founded by Vincent and Walter Kassenbrock.
Council meetings which are open to the public are held usually on the last Tuesday evening of the month (except during July, August and December) at locations throughout our service area.
Situated in the southwest section of Brooklyn near the entrance to New York Harbor, the geographic boundaries of the Council are the Bay Ridge Rail Yards and Long Island Rail Road right of way on the north, Lower New York Bay on the South, Upper New York Bay on the west and 14 th Avenue and Bay 8th Street on the east. This area has a population of approximately 123,000 larger than the populations of many small cities and towns in the Tri-state area.
